The general meeting for this month will be a special field trip to be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 starting at 6 p.m. at the piano showroom of:

The technical will be a presentation and discussion of Fazioli pianos. Currently there are four instruments on display, including a special art case edition. We hope everyone will plan to attend. The showroom is conveniently located between 7th and 8th Avenues, a one block walk from Columbus Circle.

Piano Tecnicians Guild meeting was held on September 12th at Mike Slavin's workshop in New Hyde Park. Eight members were present.

Alex Kostakis of AC Pianocraft presented the technical. Alex discussed backcheck installation and repair and regulation. He demonstrated on a Baldwin action that he had with him. He displayed a custom jig to install new backchecks. A very ingenious device. A lively discussion develped along with a question and answer session. Alex concluded with tips on adjusting the sustenuto pedal.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25.

Once again I will comment how neat and organized Mike's shop is. A good tip for us all - neat and organized.
