This month's technical class will be given by Steve Fairchild, Jr. He will be discussing action brackets, an important but often overlooked topic.

The Executive Committee will meet at 5 PM at La Parma Restaurant, 410 Merrick Road, Oceanside prior to the general meeting.

The September meeting of the Nassau PTG took place on September 9, 2003 at the church in Baldwin, New York. We had a treasurer's report and there were no minutes, since the previous meeting was our June party. There were nine members and two guests in attendance. There were no committee reports, and Mike Slavin informed us that he is looking for a place for our holiday party. It was also announced that Joe Biseglie would be made a sustaining member of the chapter.

Our technical consisted of a lecture and demonstration slides about home furniture repairs. It was given by Ruth and Webb Phillips. Ruth and Webb explained and showed us the various products that they sell for touching up small scratches and other minor damage in the home. There were products as simple as fill-in sticks and some products to fill in larger damages that required filling in the damage, sanding it properly, and then matching the color as closely as possible to that of the piano. We also were shown materials to touch up acrylic finishes. When properly learned, this can be an additional source of revenue for us. Additional information can be obtained by calling Ruth or Webb Phillips. They will also be teaching at the NYSCON convention on September 25-28 at the Nevele-Grande Hotel in Ellenville, New York. Our meeting ended at 9:35 PM.
