The general meeting for this month will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 starting at 7 p.m.

This month's technical presentation will be by Ron Berry, RPT. The topic is the sources of noises in the piano and tracing and eliminating them.

Ron's class, Noisebusters, is a collection of many noise sources he has found over the last 50 years. Finding noises both in and out of the piano has been a constant challenge. He will go through some of the common sources and how to fix them, as well as strange and uncommon sources. Those you can put in your memory bank and it may help you find them more easily if you run into them.

After graduating from Northwestern in 1971 in Philosophy, Ron Berry began his career in piano technology . He worked 7 years for the Indianapolis Public Schools in their building and grounds piano shop under the eye of PTG member John Boukes. Work there included maintenance on all the school pianos and a rebuilding shop. After that Ron went into business for himself and continues to this day celebrating 50 years of business.

Ron joined the PTG as a Craftsman in 1976 and has served the Guild on numerous committees. Ron was chair of the Examinations and Test Standards Committee when the new computerized tuning test was implemented. Ron served on the Board of Directors as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice- President, and President. Ron was webmaster for PTG during the early days of the internet and established the first PTG web site, https://www.ptg.org
