The April 2004 meeting of Nassau PTG was held at the church in Baldwin New York on April 13, 2004. Three chapter members and three guests attended. The meeting started at 7:15 PM. The minutes were read and approved. There was no treasurer's report due to Paul Keogler's absence. No committee reports were given.

Our end of season party will be held on June 8 in Lake Success. We will have further details at our May meeting. A discussion was held regarding Chapter Sustaining Memberships and the fact that the chapter has to pay for them. This can be a future problem for the chapter. It was mentioned by Steve Fairchild that a member who is retired and has a hardship can still retain his membership without paying. He will not receive the Journal, but the chapter will not have to pay for him. The business meeting ended at 8 PM.

Our technical presentation was by Steve Fairchild. His topic was: "Action Brackets". Steve ably discussed the different types of action brackets. One type of bracket, the Doll bracket, is found on some older actions. This bracket is difficult to get from the piano supply house. The other type is the Aeolian bracket. Action brackets do break, according to Steve, and it is important to check their condition when doing action work. Replacement of a bracket may require some extensive work, if we cannot get the original type of bracket. Steve also answered general questions about problems in the field.

The meeting ended at 9 PM. We thank Steve for having given a total of three technical presentations to our chapter this year.

Next month's meeting will be our year-end dinner party, to be held on Tuesday evening June 8, 2004 at 7:00 PM at
