Proposed Minutes of the February Meeting
by Allan Schumacker - Secretary
A meeting of the Long Island Nassau Chapter, PTG was held on February 16, 2010, at Frank and Camille’s
Keyboard Center located at 371 Old Country Road in Carle Place, NY.
In lieu of a regular meeting, the chapter decided to attend this meeting that Camille scheduled. The
presentation was given by Petrof USA’s national service manager, Paul Rea. All technicians on
Frank & Camille’s mailing list were invited to attend. Dinner was provided prior to the
commencement of the lecture. The entire event was scheduled to run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A
chapter business meeting was not held.
Following dinner, Camille addressed the group and thanked everyone for coming. She introduced
Joseph Bednar, Petrof’s national sales manager, Canada, and the district sales manager for
Petrof U.S.A. Mr. Bednar spoke briefly and enthusiastically about changes that have taken
place at Petrof in recent history and praised the quality of tone of the Petrof pianos. At
the conclusion of his speech, Mr. Bednar turned the meeting over to Paul Rea.
Mr. Rea, using a laptop computer and an LCD projector, played a DVD that was created for the
purposes of taking one on a photographic tour of the Petrof factory. After that, he gave a
presentation that covered regulating procedures that can be followed to make new piano preparation
work for the dealer, more efficient and more cost effective. Mr. Rea demonstrated on a Petrof
piano the regulation techniques discussed in his lecture and demonstrated the use of the special
tools that he uses. There was time available at the end of the discussion to answer questions.
The meeting ended at 8:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Allan N. Schumacker, RPT
