This month's technical class will be given by Alex Kostatakis of the highly regarded A & C Pianocraft. He will be leading a round table discussion of pianos from the rebuilder's perspective. Be ready with your questions for what should be a very interesting meeting.

Our January meeting was at Steinway on Old Country Road in Westbury. This is their newest location, in the Fortunoff shopping center. We had eleven members attending.

Our meeting consisted of a tour of the store. We saw Steinways of every type as well as the Essex and Boston pianos, which are made to Steinway specifications. Our hosts Diane and Mark Villaflor showed us every piano that was in the store, including some rebuilt pianos and some used ones that we could suggest to a client who wanted to spend less money than for the Steinway or Boston pianos. We were given an opportunity to see and play many of the Steinway models as well as some other pianos that were for sale. We thank Diane and Mark Villaflor and Steinway for their hospitality.
