The January meeting of the Nassau PTG took place on January 9, 2001. We had a treasurer's report, but there were no minutes, since the previous meeting was our end-of-year party. Our president, Paul Eccardt, informed us of the death of Paul Satzman, a member for many years. The home office sent a condolence note, and our secretary will send one also. We discussed the end-of-year party. We had guaranteed 20 dinners and we only had 11 people. The chapter had to pay for the additional meals. We also did not receive our deposit back, and our treasurer will look into it. We will consider other places for future parties. The business meeting ended at 8:40 PM.

Our technical consisted of a video about bridge repair. The video showed us how the strings were loosened and held up above the bridge. Any loose pins were hammered back into the bridge. A solution of epoxy was then applied to the cracked parts of the bridge. After several hours, the bridge was able to support the strings again. The video was interesting and informative. We thank Lee Dobrins for the use his video player and for supplying the video on short notice.
