The general meeting for this month will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 starting at 7 p.m.
This month's technical presentation will be by Christopher Brown, RPT. Chris has developed a precise method to accurately duplicate the keybed and the action's position within the piano on the workbench, to achieve very precise regulation without further rework upon reinstallation in the piano. He will demonstrate his special jigs and the tools required for this procedure. Included here are links to "handouts" for the protocols for the class to read beforehand: https://grandwork.tools/products/digital-protocols-set-of-4
Christopher Brown RPT has worked as a piano technician in the Boston area since 1977. A graduate of North Bennet Street School, he has worn many hats in his career: college technician, concert tuner, rebuilder, private customer piano-care provider. Action work gradually became a specialty leading the development of a line of regulating tools for the trade (available at Grandwork.tools).
