This month's technical class will be by an old friend of our chapter, Alex Kostakis of AC Pianocraft, which is well known for its very fine rebuilding and restoration of high-quality grand pianos. Alex will discuss a topic of his choice, to be announced. Alex has a broad wealth of knowledge on nearly every area of piano technology, and his technicals should not be missed.

The Executive Committee will meet prior to the general meeting at 5 p.m. at the Carle Place Diner, on the northeast corner of Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road.

The December meeting was our annual Holiday dinner party, which was held on Tuesday evening December 3 at the Inn at New Hyde Park.

We must announce with great sadness the recent passing of Norman Heischober, RPT. Norman was one of the founding members of our Chapter, and a constant promoter and advocate of the Piano Technicians Guild. He specialized in player pianos, and worked jointly with our own Paul Keogler, who carries on the tradition of automated piano player systems. Norman is survived by his wife Marilyn, who herself was an active RPT in our chapter until her retirement. He will be greatly missed.
