This month's technical class will be by Michael Cabe, the new manager of the service department at Steinway & Sons. Mr. Cabe will discuss the recent changes as to how Steinway pianos are serviced in the field, what it means to the independent piano technician, and the opportunities that these new procedures present.

The Executive Committee will meet prior to the general meeting at 5 p.m. at the Olive Garden Restaurant, 1120 Old Country Road, Westbury, diagonally across the street from Frank and Camille's.

The previous general meeting was our annual Holiday Party, held on Tuesday evening December 6, 2011, at Tesoro Ristorante in Westbury.

Happy New Year! Now is the time that we all set up our new schedules and appointment books. Set aside the second Tuesday of every month for our chapter meetings, to assure that there will be no conflicts and that you will be able to attend each one. We have great technicals planned for the whole year. Please note the following changes to our normal schedule:

The February meeting will take place on Monday, February 13, since the fourteenth is Valentine's Day and might present some problems for the romantic couples among us.

The May meeting will be on Thursday, May10, to accommodate our guest speaker's schedule.

The December meeting will be our annual holiday dinner party, and will be held, as always, on the first Tuesday of the month, December 4th.
