Albert Sanderson
August 8, 1928 - November 16, 2008
Dr. Sanderson was a well respected RPT member of PTG. He was also an inventor
and taught classes at PTG conventions. He received his Ph. D. in physics from
Harvard University in 1969 . He is well known throughout PTG as the inventor of the
Sanderson Accu-Tuner. In addition, he also invented the Sight-O-Tuner, the
Sanderson Accu-Fork, and the Sanderson Beat Rater. The Sanderson Accu-Tuner
has been used in the administration of the PTG tuning exam for the purposes of
reading, storing, and scoring piano tunings.
Dr. Sanderson’s contributions to PTG were formally recognized in 1998 when he was
presented with PTG’s most prestigious honor, the Golden Hammer Award. PTG was
fortunate to have him as a member and to have been able to benefit from his
expertise.
